1. What's your all time favourite piece of lingerie?
This is such a hard one but probably the Sj Lingerie 'Raw' bodysuit. It's sentimentally significant to me, a stunning piece that I receive complements on each time I wear it and I can picture myself being both married and buried in it quite contently.
2. When was the moment you first fell in love with lingerie?
Lingerie has been an obsession of mine since my early teens but it was probably when I was in my final year of studio specialisation for my Fine Arts degree that I realised how deeply my creative processes are influenced by the history, aesthetics and inherent intimacy of well made undergarments.
3. Is being photographed in and collecting lingerie your main job, or something you do for fun?
Mostly I do it for fun, but I feel like it's all creative exploration that goes back in to my work as an artist.
4. What was your favourite photoshoot, why?
Again, a really tough question but probably working with photographer Sophie Caligary and Gaby from Hopeless Lingerie recently to create a series of tin type (wet collodion) plates. The entire process is so fascinating and calls to the high school darkroom nerd inside of me. I've always loved alternative photographic processes and working with two people I admire so much for their passion and drive was definitely inspiring.
5. When you're in front of the camera, what do you think of?
It totally depends on the shoot! Sometimes I think about nothing at all and just have a good chat with the photographer, sometimes I think about the people who bullied me in school about my body or my looks and sometimes I just think about what I'm doing with my body and how to create what I think will translate well into a hopefully really beautiful image.
6. Does the tattoo below your sternum have a meaning? (It's beautiful by the way)
It sort of doesn't, I really love crystal formations and use a lot of rough crystals in my jewellery work. It was also done during a time of huge changes in my life when I wanted to "treat myself" so I guess retrospectively when I consider it I think about the challenges I've faced in the last few years and my resilience as a person.
7. Have you ever considered creating your own lingerie line?
I have, I was making lingerie-"ish" type things in my final year of my jewellery degree. Harnesses and cage bras and leather collars and epaulets etc but shortly after I left university found myself in a pretty unstable living situation which has lasted much of the past 3 years so I haven't really had the physical space to work on making things or the energy to dedicate to getting my ideas down.
8. If you could work with anyone (photographer, designer, magazine etc) who would it be?
Arghhhhhh, so, SO many people! I absolutely love Miles Aldrige's work so to shoot with him would be a dream. Maxime Ballesteros is one of the more interesting photographers I've come across in a long time and if I ever had the chance to I'd jump on that opportunity in a heartbeat. I'm very lucky to get to work with so many amazing brands and photographers already though that if I had of thought about it a few years ago there's absolutely no way I would have ever imagined it happening.
9. Tell me one aim for the next 2 years?
Get my lingerie inspired jewellery and leather work label off the ground and start making a name for myself as a designer and creator of things that people hopefully think are beautiful and want to own.
10. Finally, what do you think of valentines day?
I'm pretty blasé about it to be honest, I love that it's a good time of year for some smaller lingerie brands to get out there and maybe get a bit more exposure but all in all I think it's just another over-commercialised holiday. I'm not into chocolate boxes and roses but lingerie is definitely something that I think deserves a holiday. Honestly it should just be Lingerie Day, where we all worship ourselves as Patron Saints of The Undergarment.

Using these responses I will produce a mini publication with photographs as well. If Underground Undies responds as well, then the publication will have Dullife Lingerie on one side, and then on the other side flipped over will be Underground Undies. It will have to be thought about the middle joining pages though, to ensure it is clear where Dullife Lingerie ends and Underground Undies starts.
