OUGD502 CREATIVE REPORT - UNDERGROUND UNDIES RESPONSE

Today I received a response to my questions from Underground Undies (aka Gabriel Hebisen).

1. Can you juggle?
Ha! Not at all. I’m actually quite lousy at physically juggling and mentally juggling. I’m easily distracted.

2. What's your favourite piece of underwear you've made?
Probably the Harley that I made for the blogger Lamb from Of Lambs and Lace. It is modeled after Harley Quinn from Batman and it is just so cool. Dual red and black mesh panels on the front and back. I love it.

3. Is there a specific piece of underwear that inspires you? If so why?
This is an interesting one. I’m often inspired by the work of Gabrielle Alamedis of Hopeless. Her lines, shapes, and fabrics are really incredible. I can’t pick a single piece though. Too hard!

4. In 3 words, describe your undies...
Personal, comfortable, and fun

5. What was it like creating undies for dullife_lingerie? (because she's amazing and your undies look fabulous on her!)
She was one of my first customers when I was making things only for myself, my now ex girlfriend and close friends. She gave me a few things she liked and then I just ran with it. She’s become a good pal, and now has her own knicker named after her!

6. Would you ever produce more Star Wars themed underwear to go alongside the Lola Fett? (Star Wars fan over here)
I would love to, actually! The Lola Fett is such a cool concept, but a labour to create. I thought doing one with Han’s color scheme (and maybe a blaster on the hip) would be cool. Storm Troopers might be easy to emulate in the same style as well.

7. Do you prefer designing for men or women?
With my men’s product, I primarily only use one pattern. I exercise a lot of creativity with the women’s wear. I think women’s underthings generally allow for more expression and creativity. Additionally, most of my clients are women, so there is just more sheer yield.

8. What do you think underwear will be like in 10 years time?
I’m really not sure. It’s tricky to guess the trends and patterns that come and go. A lot of fashion is cyclical in ten to fifteen year loops, but I hope that the cheaply bedazzled thong never resurfaces.

9. Would you ever consider branching out into bras?
Oh, absolutely. I’m in the process of making a companion bralette for the Marceline knicker

10. What do you think of Valentines Day?
I’ve never been one for commercialized romance, honestly. I’ve long considered myself an everyday romantic – the type of person who thinks of their partner all the time, and so every moment has potential for romance. That being said, a day to remind anyone, friends, family, lovers that you care about them isn’t a bad thing. So, up with love, whenever that might be!

This response was amazing, and now means that I have two creatives to produce my report on, which are related as well, as Underground Undies produced underwear for Dullife Lingerie. This will mean that the double publication can be produced, with Dullife Lingerie on one side, and then if you turn over Underground Undies will be on the other.
