OUGD402 STUDIO BRIEF 2 - CREATIVE RESUME

As well as business cards, I wanted to produce a resume or CV as well, to give out at interviews for jobs, or for work placements perhaps. I wanted to create one which reflects my creative style as an individual, rather than just being text on paper. Alex Boren's Creative Resume really inspired me, and gave me the idea of producing a creative resume in the first place, as before seeing this, I had never seen a resume produced like this before.

Alex Boren's creative resume.
I took the general design of Boren's and started constructing my own creative resume, only making it more personal to me, as I didn't want to straight out copy his design.

This is my initial design, as yet unfinished, there will be a photograph of myself to replace the odd shaped person in the centre. I wanted to continue with the mono printed theme I had used in my business cards, as I thought this reflected the style I want to work in more, and I really like the colours of some of my prints as well, they are bold and colourful, which I think reflects my style of working. Similar to Boren's I have separated the information into different sections, and spread it along the outside edges of the page, leaving the photograph of myself in the centre, being the focus. I chose to keep my name and profession, as well as my contact details and logo in a band at the top of the page, as I thought this created a solid structure to build the rest of the page around, and also shows the information in short at the top, so if a prospective employer doesn't look past the top of the page, they will at least see my name and logo.
